U.S. Cities Wellbeing

In March the Gallup released results from a well-being survey for U.S. cities.  The well-being index took into consideration 2010 data on the percent population diabetic, obese, frequency of exercise, frequency of produce consumption, city optimism, and the percent residents uninsured.

The top ranked metro areas based on an overall well-being index between 73.7 to 71.6 being were:

  1. Boulder, CO
  2. Lincoln, NE
  3. Fort Collins-Loveland, CO
  4. Provo-Orem, UT
  5. Honolulu, HI

The lowest ranked areas were:

  1. Beaumont-Port Arthur, TX (61.1)
  2. Youngston-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA (61.0)
  3. Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH (58.1)
The Albany, NY area was ranked with an overall well-being of 66.4.
