SFpark: San Francisco’s New Technologies for Parking

This video highlights how San Francisco hopes to use new parking technologies to make finding parking in the city easier, safer and reduce congestion.

Included in the system are technology that detect empty parking spots and notifies drivers, meters that take credit cards, and fluctuating parking rates that adjust based on parking availability.

Find parking faster. Pay more easily. Avoid tickets. SFMTA’s SFpark project is a two-year federally funded pilot of new parking management technologies and approaches. Less circling and fewer double-parked cars give us cleaner air and safer streets for bicyclists and pedestrians. With less traffic, public transit and emergency vehicles move more easily.
