Helsinki Builds Underground

This CNN video reports on Helsinki, Finland’s master plan to expanding building underground.  The City already hundreds of underground facilities, including a coal refinery/storage, utility delivery networks, and a data center.  The data center is part of a green close energy system that uses seawater to cool down the center’s computer, and the captured heat is delivered by pipes to heat homes.

Helsinki is planning to build more underground to avoid sprawl and maintain a nice cityscape.
