Mass Transit in the Big Cities

Taking the Train

New York City’s public transportation system is the biggest in United States, but just how big?

NYC moves an astonishing 7.8 million people everyday day on its trains. The system with the second top ridership, D.C.’s Metro has 1 million riders.

The fastest system (based on average speed) is the BART at 35MPH, more than twice the speed of the slowest, the T.
