Mumbai’s Skywalks

Skywalk

A section of one of Mumbai's Skywalks

Mumbai Skywalks are a series of elevated walkways dedicated to pedestrians, connecting Mumbai rail stations and commercial areas to various destinations.

The City started building the Skywalks in 2008, as a solution to its crowded streets. Today there are 36 Skywalks that act as walking expressways. The walkways cost $300 million USD to build.

WSJ post a story and video on the project in January, 2010.

Amazing! I love the kind of Blade Runner-esque street scenes you see in East Asia.
